Located on the flagship campus of the Indiana University system, School of Public Health-Bloomington (SPH-B) has more than 2500 enrolled undergraduate and 380 graduate students, 200 faculty, and 95 staff in 5 departments (Applied Health Science, Environmental and Occupational Health, Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Health & Wellness Design, and Kinesiology). We are in a period of profound growth, as we have hired more than 30 new tenure-track faculty in the last 3 years. Indiana University is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU). The city of Bloomington offers the feel of a college town with the amenities of a large city. Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Conducts literature reviews.
Aids in survey instrument design and programming.
Performs quantitative and qualitative data collection, management, and analysis.
Writes and edits peer-reviewed manuscripts and professional presentations.
Assists with grant proposal preparation.
Performs other research-related tasks as needed.
General Responsibilities
Manages a small project, from start to finish, or one phase of a large project, ensuring on time completion within budget.
Develops project plan(s) and efficiently analyzes, tracks, forecasts, and reports on project metrics and shortfalls.
Reports on progress and provides regular updates to upper management.
Coordinates and communicates between various areas; conducts project meetings and prepares regular reports.
Collaborates with other departments to ensure that project objectives are achieved within established time frames.
May provide guidance and support to non-exempt staff.

Academic, research, and/or work experience related to adolescent risk behaviors (e.g., substance use, sexual health) or broadly related to social and behavioral sciences/behavioral epidemiology/public health
Ability to perform basic statistical programming using statistical analysis software (e.g., STATA, SPSS, R)
Familiarity with qualitative research and qualitative software management programs (e.g., NVivo)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated with a high level of responsibility to complete tasks in a timely manner and make significant progress with minimal supervision
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
