Job Summary The Development Assistant supports members of the Corporate Relations team at Boston Children's Hospital Trust. Using a broad understanding of the department's fundraising philosophy, they employ a number of administrative, organization and communication skills in helping to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects.
This Development Assistant, Corporate Relations will:
Help manage team calendars and schedule internal and external appointments and meetings with donors, doctors, volunteers, trustees, and hospital staff. Reserve and prepare conference rooms and manage logistics for donor visits
Maintain constituent information in donor database including biographical information, Trust codes, solicitor actions and proposal information
Manage the gift process from booking to acknowledgement and payment coordination
In conjunction with Corporate Relations team leadership, handle group financial reports, expense accounting, and annual budget forecasting/reporting for the corporate relations group.
Support gift officer in communication with the hospital staff and the Trust's constituents including high-level donors and hospital and Trust Board members.
Assist team with online proposal submissions and donor stewardship activities that may include; compiling reports, coordinating hospital visits/receptions, assisting with PR/Social Media coordination to acknowledge corporate gifts and involvement, among other activities.
Attend departmental and donor meetings as needed.
To qualify, you must have:
Minimum of an Associate's Degree and 4 years of fundraising related work experience. Bachelor's degree preferred and would replace the experience requirement
Volunteer or intern fundraising experience is a plus
Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint)
Critical thinking skills/ability to communicate professionally
