Position Summary
Design, develop, document, maintain and operate core financial business processes and insure data collected or reported is of the highest quality for decision makers at all levels within the School of Medicine.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Designs data files, processes, menus, input/output forms and reports to support core financial business operations. Provides documentation, maintenance and support of these processes by managing the system or providing support to others responsible for managing the system.
Provides quality control of all data involved with business process assigned. Must have a very good understanding of the majority of the data used within the department and assist others with using the data when required.
Provides leadership and initiative for resolving issues and questions regarding the functionality of the reporting and/or data system and its associated interfaces.
Meets with customers to evaluate project request which maybe for a new data collection and reporting system or a maintenance request for an existing system. Requests can be as complex as a budget and financial planning tool to a simple request for listing YTD expense for the last 5 years for a given department. May make decisions on best solution to apply.
Schedules and manages the delivery of data, reports or updates to systems assigned. Maybe assigned processes that will update the Universityâ™s general ledger system and require very tight deadlines throughout the fiscal year.
Assists customer with establishing good controls for data going into the system as well as coming out of the system. Maybe required to reconcile departmental reports to Deanâ™s reports on systems assigned.
Provides technical support in areas of expertise, loads software they support and assists with managing the security of data within data files and reports on the network.
Preferred Qualifications
Six or more years of business experience working with Adaptive Insights, Workday, WebFocus, Hyperion Financial Management, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visual Basic or Microsoft SQL (or any comparable tools) and proven experience to extract, transform, load and present data to a variety of formats or databases.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel especially setting up formulas and graphs, importing data from TXT files or mapping data to worksheets within a workbook. Some knowledge of how Excel can be used to pull in data directly from MS SQL or via connections to other software products like Hyperion Enterprise.
Strong knowledge of financial data and basic concepts such as overdrafts, variance analysis, trend analysis, CAGR formula.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Email.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear, accurate, organized presentations of data.
Excellent problem solving skills and creative ways to discover solutions.
Excellent ability to follow detail instructions and handle mundane operations.
Excellent ability to work in teams when required.
Ability to work independently, deal with frequent interruptions, handle multiple assignments, handle occasional pressured deadlines, work overtime when needed and switch priorities, sometimes daily.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people at all levels of the organization.
Required Qualifications
BS degree in Business Administration or Information Systems is preferred, but will consider years of experience and some college courses in business and information systems as the focus.

Salary Range
$70,300.00 - $120,000.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
