Position Summary
Provide school wide analysis of patient billing issues. Assist with reporting functions. Areas of responsibility include review of Epic generated report to analyze root cause of patient billing issues. Access and utilize multiple software applications, applies business rules and knowledge of insurance verification processes along with billing and collection principles.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Identify, research, and report trends.
Review, monitor, and recommend workflows with Epic to achieve optimal customer service.Â
Recommend system and operational enhancements.
Research, test, and evaluate new technologies related to our spectrum.
Attend payer meetings.
Run and analyze monthly reports.
Review and compare reports from Experian and Collection Agencies.
Investigate HIPAA violations to find route root cause of violation.
Interact with clinical department support staff to enhance billing processes.
Evaluate, prioritize and resolve problems, requests or escalate to appropriate support areas including submit and track tickets, as needed.Â
Performs other related project work and duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Positions works remotely, however occasional onsite presence will be required.
Work is fast paced and demanding with time constraints and productivity requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience with spreadsheet software and financial reporting strongly preferred.
Knowledge of ICD-9-CM and CPT coding systems strongly preferred.
Possess strong verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at various levels.Â
Working knowledge of Epic application.Â
Ability to manage multiple tasks, and possess the ability to possess good organization and planning skills.
Working knowledge of reporting systems and processes.Â
Strong analytical problem solving skills.Â
Proficient in Excel and Word with good written and oral communication skills.Â
Detail oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands.
Understanding of Epic and PC spreadsheet skills.
An analytical thinker with previous experience in financial reporting.
Interpersonal skills with ability to interact with internal and external clients.
Required Qualifications
Equivalent of Bachelorâ™s degree in business, health information management, or related field and two years experience in a health care or business environment.

Salary Range
$22.25 - $34.45 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
