The Operations and Special Projects Senior Manager supports the daily functioning of all school’s operations, oversees school safety and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Embodies, promotes and communicates the school’s mission and core values in all endeavors and interactions.
Understands and promotes the standards and policies of the school.
Respects, affirms, and protects the dignity and worth of each member of the community and exhibits moral and ethical behavior.
Responsible for providing tactical and strategic oversight, management, and planning of all aspects of the daily physical operation and maintenance of the school’s campuses and programs
Takes an active part in the full life of the school.
Sets professional boundaries, collaborating with constituents within those boundaries.
Supervises the Facilities Manager, Security Staff, Registrar, IT Manager, and administrative front desk staff.
Manages deadlines and serves as point person and problem solver staff and for families. Assists the COO in developing reports, presentations and correspondence.
Supports the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Human Resources Manager
Write and post recruiting ads, track analytics
Organize applicant interviews with other staff members,
Prepare, collect, and archive agreements and other paperwork
Collaborate with People and Culture
Update internal and external databases (e.g. record sick or maternity leave, DASL reporting)
Prepare HR templates, such as new hire guides
Establish new processes when needed
Liaise with external partners, like PEO, insurance/benefits vendors, and ensure legal compliance
Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics (e.g. turnover rates)
Collaborate with People and Culture to detect trends in staff absences, sick days, and work schedules to propose policy solutions to leadership
Process expense forms
Participate in HR projects (e.g. help organize a job fair event)
Perform other tasks as required
Operations (60%)
Manage all school scheduling for special events, field trips, transportation, maintenance, playgrounds and cleaning
Manage the school safety plan: disaster preparation, fire drills, student, staff and public safety, and student health.
Assist with licensing and safety obligations and record keeping as needed
Ensure space is clean, safe and tidy by supervising facilities and cleaning crew
Ensure technology and communication work (phones, computers, printers, networks, firewalls and security); troubleshoot in a timely manner
Perform other tasks as required such as fire drills, yearbook coordination, etc
Supervise and mentor the Manager of Facilities and support the Facilities and Security Teams in their short-term and long-term projects
Ensure compliance with all codes and regulations governing the use, construction, maintenance and improvement of site and facilities
Manage all purchasing for FFE (Furniture, Fixtures, Equipment) for School operations
Provide logistical oversight for all major School events (program, advancement, facility rentals, etc.
Note: Workloads and demands ebb and flow with seasons and situations, and it is expected that work outside of work hours will sometimes be required to manage surges and busy times of year, as well as emergencies.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Significant prior experience in managerial roles, operations, and project management , ideally in a K-12 school setting
Appreciation for and desire to work in a highly relational and values-centered environment; excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and diplomacy skills
A personal communication style that is accessible, approachable, optimistic and welcoming,
Strong personal values of compassion, patience and integrity
