Job Overview
The Department of Psychology at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor, Educator, Organizational Leadership, Talent Development who will teach in our University of Cincinnati ONLINE BA in Organizational Leadership/Talent Development. Likely courses include Foundations of Leadership, Organizational Behavior for Effective Leaders, Assessment & Evaluation, Training and Development, Diversity in the Workplace, Introduction to Human Resources, and other Talent Development/Leadership related courses. The normal teaching load for this position is 100% online with up to four courses per semester. This is a non-tenure eligible one-year Visiting Professor- Educator position in Distance Learning Program.
Appointment will begin August 2023 and will initially be for one year with the possibility of renewal for a second year.
Essential Functions
The ideal candidate will have a proven record of teaching excellence in an online environment and could teach courses in industrial-organizational psychology, human resources, leadership, management, organizational development, or related fields. Experience teaching undergraduate research methods and statistics desired; specific experience teaching online, including but not limited to Quality Matters certification, is preferred. As part of the A&S College Teaching Innovation Initiative, we seek applicants with experience using research based, active learning approaches, and those willing to evaluate new models of instruction and embrace online learning.
In addition to teaching requirements, the person who fills this position is expected to contribute to the service mission of the ORGL program and Psychology department. Service duties might include: advising students, curriculum oversight, facilitating with practicums, overseeing capstone projects, assistance with converting existing undergraduate courses to an online format and promoting the program to prospective students. Accordingly, the desired candidate should possess strong organizational, communication, and analytic skills. We are also particularly interested in candidates who can contribute broadly through their service activities to the Department's mission with regard to advancing pedagogy. Minimum Requirements
A Master's degree In Business, Organizational Leadership, Human Resources Management, or Psychology (Organizational or Industrial-Organizational), coupled with significant (e.g., approximately 5 years) industry experience.
Demonstrated experience (e.g., course evaluations, teaching awards, conference presentations, and references) as an excellent college instructor as well as extensive experience and well versed in best practices in online course delivery is required.
Additional Qualifications Considered
A PhD or EdD in Psychology, Organizational Leadership, Management, or a related field in business or leadership.
Research experience that aligns with the Department's areas of emphasis is a plus but is not required.
