Job Summary
The research analyst will work in the NIH-funded HuBMAP project, a project that aims to map the human body at single-cell level. They will join an interdisciplinary team that includes software developers, data scientists, medical illustrators, biologists, and project managers.
Department Specific Responsibilities
Collaborates extensively with external teams to design, configure, develop, test, distribute, and document elements of a Human Reference Atlas.
Interprets new requests, assess feasibility, and collaborate with HuBMAP and CNS colleagues on the creation and use of these Human Reference Atlas digital objects.
Opportunity to co-author scholarly publications in high-profile scientific outlets
Develops, prepares, and delivers presentations on project work in professional and academic settings.
Prepares research reports, journal articles, and written project documentation with limited direction.
Develops and documents procedures.
May supervise student employees.
General Responsibilities
Performs complex and intricate laboratory experiments while following research techniques and procedures.
Develops procedures and protocols in collaboration with leadership.
Prepares research reports or analyses for projects.
Maintains safety records and ensures safety/compliance procedures and protocols are followed.
Provides guidance and support to junior-level staff in laboratory operations.
May develop, prepare, and coordinate grant applications and grant-related activities to obtain funding for research projects and related work.

Prior experience in more than one of the following areas: biomedical imaging, histology, human anatomy and physiology, data analysis, data visualization, and computer programming.
Familiarity with multiplexed microscopy image analysis software and molecular biology assays and bioinformatics is a plus.

Working Conditions / Demands
The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
