Summary of Duties:
The Data Programmer Analyst (Business Data Analyst) is responsible for the development, implementation, operation, maintenance, documentation, and support of the WSU Foundation data management, database programming. This position is responsible for developing Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes that build Data Warehouses allowing reports, analytics and applications to function at scale. This person will be proficient at translating business requirements into data models that support production reports, analytics and applications. This person will have a strong understanding of data strategy and development, and handling administrator functions as well.
This position is also responsible for working with leaders and teams to build new reports/dashboards while at the same time maintaining the current reports/dashboards.

Monthly Salary: This position is based on WSU Zone 1 and Salary Grade 6, which has a minimum salary of $4,942 and maximum salary of $7,567. The Hiring Department's expected hiring range is $5,833 - $6,667. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, this salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelor's degree in a related field AND three (3) years of professional experience in business data analysis or related; OR a combination of education and experience totaling seven (7) years from which comparable knowledge and ability are acquired.
Ability to work in SQL Server environments using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) tools, especially T-SQL, query analyze to create, debug, and troubleshoot stored procedures.
Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server (2019 or higher) or any other relational database management system administration.
Experience with advanced stored procedures and SSIS package development.
Experience with Tableau, Power BI or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Exceptional time management skills, including the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and prioritize multiple competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in data cleansing and quality control processes.
Ability to collaborate with University partners, other developers to effectively document partner's business processes and procedure requirements.
Excellent organization, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Demonstrated ability to provide effective customer service to people at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work and sustain attention with distractions and/or interruptions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a higher education environment.
Experience in managing data loads to ensure data sources are loaded into the data warehouse efficiently and effectively.
Experience with SharePoint (2019 or higher).
Experience with using industry's business intelligence tools.
Experience using collaboration and personal productivity tools.
