Summary Position The Associate Director of Development (ADoD) will report to the Director of Development and the Elon Society in University Advancement and will be responsible for maintaining personal contact with a portfolio of university constituents at the major gift level ($50,000 and higher). The ADoD's portfolio will be comprised of Elon alumni, families, and friends, helping to increase engagement and philanthropy. They will work within the team of gift officers housed in University Advancement to focus on supporting the priorities of the Elon LEADs campaign, as well as the initiatives of the Boldly Elon strategic plan.

The ADoD will centralize their activity within their portfolio, helping to develop resources for Elons highest philanthropic priorities. They will engage members of the Elon community through all mediums. However, regular face to face visits will require frequent travel, as well as night and weekend work. This position will work across University Advancement and the university to build strong relationships internally, assisting as needed on university events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Identify, establish, and maintain personal contact with current and prospective donors to Elon University, both locally in other specific geographic areas. Frequent travel and/or evening and weekend duties are required. The ADoD will be required to travel for in person prospect visits, as well as university events Advance relationships with prospective donors through appropriate stages of qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to ensure fundraising goals of the university are met. Collaborate with appropriate staff within University Advancement and across the university. Use existing practices and metrics to track activity within their portfolio Utilize university databases, including The Raisers Edge NXT, to document all appropriate activity and track activity against metrics Assist with University Advancement events and activities as needed.

Education and Experience Bachelors degree required. Advanced degree preferred
