Job Description:

At Regions, the Corporate Banking Portfolio Analyst (Business Analytics Analyst) works within the Corporate Banking Group to generate tools, insights, and strategies to better enable businesses optimize risk-adjusted returns on a $50B+ funded commercial loan portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities

• Actively contributes to the development of pricing tools, analytics, and capabilities to generate portfolio insights and allocation strategies

• Benchmarks performance against peer groups

• Anticipates implications of emerging risks and opportunities

• Collaborates with quantitative analysts, data scientists, Risk, and Finance to form new actionable business insights

• Helps recommend overall performance targets (return/risk, asset quality, portfolio mix, etc.) under the guidance of manager or senior analyst

• Helps identify and support portfolio rebalancing actions including coordination with Capital Markets on potential secondary trading opportunities

• Collaborates with Corporate Bankers to promote optimal origination decisions, such as pricing guidance, pipeline management, and Relationship Manager tools

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Quant Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics

• Three (3) years of financial modeling experience

Preferences

• Coding experience in statistical packages (SAS, MATLAB, etc.)

• Analysis and modeling experience for one or more Corporate Banking lines of business

Skills and Competencies

• Ability to balance and connect theory to real world market dynamics and business cases; quantitative aptitude must be matched with a business application vision

• Ability to collaborate across wide range of constituents across organization

• Essential technical skills for data mining, analytics, and financial modeling

• Fundamental understanding of concepts and practices relating to corporate banking, commercial lending, and portfolio management (optimization, risk-adjusted return, economic capital, expected loss, tail risk, etc.)

• Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL)

Internal Candidates will have the option to report daily to Regions Charlotte Uptown, Regions Plaza Atlanta or our Birmingham centers.

External Candidates will report daily to the Regions Charlotte Uptown location.
