Job Description:
At Regions, our Treasury Analysts contribute to the formation of insights and solutions across a wide domain, with a primary focus on the strategic management of the Company's overall balance sheet. Performs a variety of analytical and processing tasks to support transaction-level and strategic-level decisions. These tasks often involve reporting, creating presentations, providing quality control, developing forecasts, conducting financial valuation and other ad hoc analyses. The assignments at this level range from routine to complex and the associate may have limited discretion to vary from established procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
Associates at this level have conceptual knowledge of basic theories, practices and procedures of the financial markets, banking, the Treasury function, and balance sheet management, while also being expected to build knowledge.
Under general supervision, assists in developing analytical insights to contribute to financial decision making
Execute regular or ad hoc processes to accomplish the regular responsibilities for Corporate Treasury (e.g. market tracking, funding management, investment analysis, report generation, collateral management)
Performs analysis/research to create new methods (or improve upon existing methods) for monitoring and understanding balance sheet activity, and its impact on the execution of the company's strategic goals
Performs financial analysis for Treasury (e.g. analysis of asset/liability management strategy, funding, debt issuance, fixed income investments, economic forecasting, and capital planning and stress testing)
Monitors balance sheet, market, or business trends to identify and recommend action in the Treasury/Finance process; performs analyses as needed to justify such actions
Executes processes which ensure creation and reporting of accurate financial results
As directed, conducts ad hoc analyses
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related business field

At Regions, the Capital Planning Analyst is responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, integration, enhancement, quality assurance, and monitoring of the bank's ongoing capital planning and scenario analysis activities. This will include creating and reviewing presentation materials for numerous senior management committees as well as working with associates throughout Corporate Treasury, Finance, Risk Management, and other groups at Regions to improve the overall Capital Planning Process. The Debt and Capital Management team supports a critical function and receives high visibility within the organization, including exposure to senior and executive level members of management and working closely with regulators from the Federal Reserve. Due to this visibility of the role, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and high motivation are essential to a candidate's success in this role.
Additional Responsibilities:
Analyze the bank's capital structure in concert with overall strategic objectives
Prepare governance materials, meeting minutes, and proper documentation of review and challenge items for various Working Groups, Governance Committees, and the Board of Directors
Lead the design and implementation of process and control improvement initiatives across the capital management process
Collaborate with the Capital team to manage the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) process, which involves coordination with numerous groups across the organization
Conduct Quality Assurance process, thoroughly reviewing material presented to Governance Committees and the Board of Directors
Garner an in-depth understanding of regulations specific to capital and the regulatory environment to successfully navigate stakeholder expectations
Additional Preferences:
Understanding of compliance functions, including risk assessment, process design, internal controls, monitoring, and review activities
Ability to perform a review of processes and develop quality recommendations to improve processes and limit weaknesses

Strong analytical skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
