The Office of Admissions is currently seeking applicants to fill a Systems Analyst II position. The position will support the analysis, design, and implementation of software/systems technical support and operating system capabilities.
You will join a collaborative and innovative team in the Office of Admission. Incumbents will have the unique opportunity to develop and grow professionally while supporting the office as we transition from a decades-old mainframe SIS to Workday Student, a cloud-based system.
This is a remote position; however, requires residence in the state of Iowa.
Example of Duties
â¢ Deploys, maintains, and troubleshoots systems infrastructure and services including email, storage, and identity and access management.
â¢ Manages and monitors all installed systems and infrastructure ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
â¢ Collects and writes technical requirements for new systems.
â¢ Analyzes and implements an emerging technology that affects Iowa State University campus-wide.
â¢ Modifies, maintains, and updates complex software.
â¢ Prepares and conducts system and programming tests which may require the interfacing of diverse hardware and software.
â¢ Reviews potential applications and designs hardware/software interfaces.
â¢ Implements best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance.
â¢ Assignments are generally of a difficult technical nature and may involve project leadership activities.
â¢ Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals
â¢ Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues
â¢ Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems
â¢ Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests
â¢ May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff
â¢ May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity
â¢ Provides guidance to students
