The role you’ll contribute:
Provides for Patient Safety in the assigned facilities and related interests through the facilities and related interests, through the investigation of incidents, potential incidents and grievances involving injury, treatment issues or lost property; assists in claim investigation and maintains investigative and legal files; resolves issues as appropriate; facilitates corrective action when warranted; initiates reports to insurance carrier and regulatory agencies; and assists the director and defense counsel. Facilitates Code 15 investigations. As the PSO Coordinator, assist the FHT AVP of Risk (PSO Liaison) with the duties associated with initiating and maintaining a PSO for the FHTBD
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Provides Orientation, Mandatory education and in-services to Hospital staff as needed.
Participates in Quality Improvement activities/committees to improve processes and patient care.
Helps ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
Assists staff with investigating and addressing patient grievances or concerns so that matters are resolved in a timely manner acceptable to all parties, or in a manner acceptable under existing policy.
Guides and assists nursing /department managers in improving patient safety and finding appropriate corrective actions and innovative solutions to safety problems.
Demonstrates the ability to complete an Incident Report and serves as a resource to all Hospital Staff for the completion and use of the on-line incident reporting system.
Is part of the on-call 24/7 risk management service for all campuses.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Bachelors and 2+ years’ experience
3 years Leadership
Five (5) years specific Health Care Risk Management experience with completion of an approved Risk Management certification course, or hospital liability claims experience
Healthcare Risk Management Certification
Registered Nurse
