The Position Proctor Academy seeks a dynamic leader as its next Chief Officer of Resource Management starting July 1, 2023. The successful candidate will be a highly experienced professional devoted to the school’s mission and appreciative of the deep roots that exist within the community. The Chief Officer for Resource Management, who reports to the Head of School (HoS), will be responsible for the Operations quadrant, which includes the business office/finances; HR; IT; housekeeping; dining services; facilities, rink and ski hill maintenance; security; and the bookstore. They will be committed to cost-effective management of resources and high-quality performance in the areas of financial management, information technology, daily operations, and the intersection of strategic and master planning. Understand and embrace the complexities of living and working in an independent boarding school community, including strategic management of all resources that underpin financial stability and continuity of mission. With the administration team, participate in local activities which preserve a harmonious town-gown relationship.
The Successful Candidate will:
Support of the HoS and will provide critical feedback when necessary.
Be an integral member of the administrative team, an effective colleague, and serve on Board of Trustees committees as assigned by the Head.
Supervise and be a check/balance for all financial aspects of the school including accounting, the annual audit, cash and fund management, endowment, budgeting, and purchasing, according to generally accepted standards outline in GAAP and NAIS.
Work with the Admission Office in analyzing enrollment statistics and financial aid, including addressing strategic enrollment management and deployment of FA.
Work with the Development Office to strategize about campaign intentions and optimal use of restricted funds, including scholarships.
Work closely with the physical plant, support staff, dining services, maintenance, ski hill, hockey rink, transportation, housekeeping, technology, and school store.
Work with the HoS, architects, contractors, and the Director of Maintenance to plan and execute new construction, renovations, and additions to the physical plant.
Be responsible for ensuring legal compliance, safety, insurance, and employee benefits and work with the HoS to manage overall risk and compliance.
Have a working knowledge of forecasting and financial reporting, data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and the scientific method.
Have proven leadership and business acumen skills and an ability to work with all levels of the school community
Have demonstrated ability to develop, supervise, and motivate employees, using one’s personal background in each of the supervised areas.
