Second Shift, Monday to Friday 4 pm to 12:30 am with 30 minute break.
Responsible for the administration of network and system infrastructure. Includes monitoring, moves, adds, changes, incident and service request resolution of the university network and system infrastructure. Serves as an escalation point for system operations center (SOC) staff, software and hardware maintenance, and repair.
Configure and provision server components (physical/virtual server and software).
Repair/replace failed network and system, fiber or connectivity issue.
Troubleshoot and resolve network and system incidents.
Provide off hour support on a rotating schedule.
Perform change management of system and network infrastructure during maintenance windows.
Monitor networks and systems.
Access networks and systems to identify and resolve incidents.
Take initiative to make and/or suggest improvements or innovations.
Maintain and update monitoring infrastructure and automation tools.
Handle infrastructure and system alerts, appropriate action to classify, prioritize and resolve complex network and system issues.
Effective communication of incident status and technical issues to stakeholders.
Collaborate with IT staff for requirement gathering, cross-functional tasks and incidents.
Respond to customer service requests in a helpful, professional manner.
Proficient with service management tool Service Now to document request and incidents received via a phone and email.
Properly route requests/incidents, track progress and document resolution.
Communicate project/issue status with customers and stakeholders.
Suggest design and audit changes to appropriate teams and update documentation.
Identify, label and report on installed infrastructure.
Maintain and update network and system drawings in service management.
Make approved changes through proper change management procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelorâ™s degree in relevant field.
CCNP/VCAP/MCSE.
Four or more years of networking and system experience.
Higher-Education experience.
Advanced knowledge and experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco IOS.
Advanced knowledge and experience installing and maintaining VMware infrastructure.
Advanced knowledge of Linux and Mac OSX operating systems.
Knowledge of currently supported Windows Server OS.
Knowledge of SAN and backup technologies.
Ability to resolve complex technical problems and projects.
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
Working Knowledge of documentation standards.
Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Perl, command line, Power Shell).
Ability to adjust work schedule time for maintenance windows.
Required Qualifications
Associates Degree with two plus years network and server experience, or equivalent combination of education & experience.

Salary Range
$24.24 - $37.58 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
