POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Director of Development
FLSA Status: Exempt
Work Schedule: 24-32 hours, flexible schedule, on-site preferred but may include some remote work
JOB SUMMARY
TGS is seeking a Development Director to design, manage, and execute a successful development strategy to expand TGS’ base of support. The Development Director reports to the Executive Director and serves as a member of the business team. The Development Director has primary responsibility for identifying, cultivating and soliciting individuals, major gifts, foundations, and corporate donors.
The successful candidate will have a commitment to the sustainability of the school, and to our mission and values as well as a proven track record of successfully leading fundraising campaigns, building lasting relationships with donors, and managing nonprofit fundraising events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to the following:
Annual Giving
Create, implement, and manage an annual fundraising strategy which includes all donor categories: individuals, major gifts, foundations, and corporate donors
Collaborate with the Community Relations Director to cultivate and develop new relationships in order to expand and diversify donor base and prospect pipeline
Manage donor database
Plan and execute fundraising events, in collaboration with the Community Relations Director
Capital Campaign
Help lead strategy development and planning of TGS capital campaign, working collaboratively with the Executive Director and Capital Campaign Steering Committee
Implement and manage TGS capital campaign, including supporting consultants as needed
Develop and manage campaign prospect lists, including research and tracking
Train and manage campaign volunteers
Schedule and support capital campaign meetings
Manage the campaign budget
Planned Giving
Refine and implement TGS endowment and planned giving strategy, in collaboration with the Executive Director and Community Relations Director
Other
Manage development budget and reconcile monthly development reports
Identify, write, and manage grants, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The individual in this position needs to move about the school environment (indoors and outdoors) frequently to engage in school activities with other staff and students.
Work Environment: Classroom/office environment with occasional outdoor engagement with TGS staff and students. Moderate noise.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the development field with a proven fundraising track record, CFRE certification preferred
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, communications, non-profit administration, or related field
Strong verbal and written communications skills, including grant writing, presentation and proofreading skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including TGS staff, parents, students, and volunteers
Experience with fundraising databases, familiarity with Bloomerang is a plus
Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology, including Google Drive and Microsoft Office Suite
Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills
Strategic thinker and good listener
Proficient with social media platforms
Knowledge and experience in fundraising theories, principles, and procedures
Ability to track, analyze, and report on donor data
Ability to maintain confidential information about students, and limit distribution to those who need to know within the school staff
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed to represent TGS in the community
