Position Summary:
The HR enterprise is comprised of three unique business units: medical center, health sciences, and main campus, as well as People Services, an HR shared service center. The Partnership serves as a strategic center responsible for planning and implementing strategic initiatives across the entire UCI HR enterprise. Members of the Partnership work in close collaboration with all three business units and People Services to leverage expertise across the enterprise. As a subject matter expert and liaison for UC's Health & Insurance and Retirement plans, the Benefits & Retirement Analyst counsels employees throughout the employee life cycle from onboarding, life events, through to preparing and completing the retirement process.
Develops and leads a host of educational sessions as well as employee communications. Often relied upon as a leader and primary point of contact to provided education and counseling for a very diverse UCI population and must have the ability to identify and resolve complex data inquiries that directly impact employees and their benefits. Partners closely with other entities, including UC Retirement Administration Service Center (RASC), UC PATH payroll center, and Fidelity. Troubleshoots errors, advocating on behalf of employees to the appropriate entity. Handles escalations with the highest level of professionalism and client service.
While supporting all UCI employees, the Benefits & Retirement Analyst position is also responsible for identifying process and service gaps across all internal vendors and championing change where desired to ensure a seamless transition for our employees into retirement.
Successful candidates are motivated to help others, eager to learn and become an expert on UC's Health & Insurance and Retirement plans, and is a trusted advisor to all employees.
Two to five years of experience in a like role is required for this position.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and demonstrated ability to leverage this technology in organizing data and identifying data anomalies.
Preferred:
Demonstrated strong writing, speaking, and group presentation skills to present information in a clear and concise manner to multiple levels in the organization. Comprehensive knowledge of the organization's employee benefits function and programs and can address unique circumstances as well as routine situations. In-depth knowledge of all benefits programs to provide information and interpretation. In-depth knowledge of applicable state and federal law. Strong analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills. Strong in-depth knowledge of organization policies and procedures; knowledge of functional area and understands how work may impact other areas. Familiarity with case management platforms and the employee case management life cycle.
