The Business Development Director for OSU Health Plan leads all business development and sales activity including the following business segments: Rx Ohio Collaborative (RxOC), Ohio PPO Connect (OPPOC), and the external growth efforts in care management, wellness and network solutions. The position is accountable for revenue generation of all segments and managing profits for RxOC business segment. This position provides oversight from proposal creation, new business implementation and ongoing service monitoring for the RxOC and OPPOC. This position collaborates with leaders from OSU Health Plan, Wexner Medical Center and other University departments and facilitates a smooth implementation for any customer choosing OSU Health Plan Solutions services. Additionally, this position will develop and maintain relationships with Benefit Consultants, Brokers, and TPAs (third party administrators). This position is responsible for organizing internal resources as necessary to support growth and retention for existing clients, accountable for client satisfaction and client retention results.
Position Summary
The Business Development Director will have responsibility for identifying business opportunities and products to fuel the growth of OSU Health Plan. Additionally, the position has responsibility for developing innovative solutions as it relates to RxOC and OPPOC business. The position is responsible for the coordination and completion of proposals ensuring the delivery of value-added products and services that meet organizational goals. The position collaborates with internal and external partners to identify current business processes, identifies new processes and products, and develops opportunities for streamlining and creating efficiencies. The position also collaborates with senior leadership to develop long-term plans to accomplish the goals of the external growth strategy.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree required, masters preferred
Minimum of 10 years experience with progressively more responsibility in employee benefits, health insurance or related field
Experience with business development/sales, broker and TPA relationships is required
Experience with pharmacy, network and wellness programs required
Project Management, program planning and administration is required
Holds Life and Health Insurance license or willing to obtain within first year
