Salary Details:
Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The full time base annual salary for this position in the Denver, CO market is expected to range between $91,000- $134,000, in Los Angeles the market is expected to range between $105,000 - $150,000, and in Oakland the market is expected to range between $106,000 - $155,000. Salaries in other markets will vary depending on market data. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance. Full time employees receive benefits including: medical and dental coverage; life insurance; short-term and long-term disability insurance; pre-tax flexible spending account for certain medical and dependent care expenses; an employee assistance program; Paid Time Off; paid holidays; participation in a retirement plan program after meeting eligibility requirements; and more.

The Talent Development Manager will work alongside our Professional Development Director, to create career development strategies focused on ensuring our attorneys and business professionals are provided training and development programming that supports their career progression. The Manager will oversee the creation and implementation of programming in alignment with the firm’s Strategic Plan and objectives. Essential functions include:
Manage institutional development programs including but not limited to: HB Academy 2.0, HB Emerge, HB University, and other strategic programming aligned with key professional milestones.
In partnership with firm stakeholders, assess competency needs at key lifecycle milestones and create and curate content in a variety of formats which support skill development and career advancement.
Direct responsibility for developing and implementing a fully robust curriculum development program including creation of program blueprint, mapping content to learning objectives, assessment strategies, subject matter analysis, interactive activities, and delivery of content where appropriate.
Evaluate programs against stated objectives; prepare reports on program metrics and feedback; implement enhancements and curriculum changes as needed based on program outcome.
Direct the production of learning resources and collateral for programming.
Orchestrate and mobilize firm resources effectively to delegate tasks related to the execution of programming; develop, monitor, communicate and adjust execution timelines to ensure firm business partners are aligned and accountable for deliverables.
Identify preferred external partners for programming; oversee engagements with providers; maintain professional relationships and network with providers.
Conceptualize new programs; operate entrepreneurially to identify progressive programming aligned to firm strategy; cultivate relationships with key firm stakeholders to advance advocacy for new programming.
Collaborate closely with other members of the Professional Development team, Learning Team, Practice Specialty Center Leaders, and other firm stakeholders to identify and solve for critical curriculum and content needs.
Establish and organize the career development strategy for both associates and business professionals.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with firm leadership.
Develop comprehensive career training curriculums that support the career progression and goals of all attorneys, paralegals, and business professionals collaborating with various teams across the firm.
Collaborate with Learning team colleagues to identify, design and determine best training formats and platforms to deliver training content.
Manage Career Development team, including hiring, training, development, and oversight of the essential job functions.
Continually invest in self-development by remaining current with new developments, technologies, industry trends and innovations.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
10-15 years of relevant talent and/or professional development experience preferably in a law firm or professional services organization.
Excellent presentation skills.
Excellent management and leadership skills.
Highly organized with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Travel required as needed.
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken and ability to establish credibility, build trust, and develop positive working relationships with team members, firm leadership, lawyers, and other professionals.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, and composure in stressful situations.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic and complex environment, meeting deadlines and successfully managing the daily workload.
Exceptional judgment, flexibility, and professionalism.
Demonstrated ability to serve as a change agent and effectively drive new initiatives in partnership with other firm departments.
Ability to work after hours, as needed.
