A Brief Overview The Director of Network Engineering oversees the operation and maintenance of internet service infrastructure and/or network components to drive network efficiency and availability. Maintains internet service network quality standards to achieve optimal levels of operation and KPI targets. Tracks and monitors internet service network traffic and performance to ensure minimal interruption to network transmission and/or network switches. Corrects internet service network problems effectively and in a timely manner. Drives initiatives, industrialization, and efficiencies to internet service network facilities for improvements (i.e., enhancements, updates, upgrades, and new systems). Establishes tools and procedures to monitor internet service network performance.
What you will do
Oversee the continuous and secure operation, administration, and maintenance of the internet service computing and networking infrastructure
Oversee day-to-day operations and utilize the company’s communication network to provide highly available data, voice, and other services to member/subscribers, as well as the back-office applications required for administrative support
Actively and consistently supporting all efforts to simplify and enhance the member/subscriber experience
Develop and lead the implementation of internet service network surveillance processes and systems, creation of innovative network operation processes and tools from concept to delivery. Seek to improve the monitoring capabilities of the platform
Lead internet service network operations projects such as budgeting, planning, implementation, maintenance, administration, staffing, and logistics
Direct team to analyze internet service network from a cost, capacity, and forecast perspective; evaluates new internet service network operations technologies and applications
Develop, maintain, and coordinate the tracking and accounting of the internet service network system through GIS or other software platforms; prepare and maintain internet service network technical specifications and related documentation to secure procedures and to prevent system failure
Partner closely with the service providers, subsidiaries, product, and technical support teams to continually improve time-to-resolution KPIs and increase focus on customer satisfaction
Manage, report, and reinforce the need to consistently meet or exceed published service-level agreement (SLA) targets across all functions. Drive service quality improvement opportunities
Coordinate and provide supervision of contracted services, design, and construction activities. Oversee administration of contracts and fiber lease agreements
Implement automated process across different areas leveraging current applications
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Security Required
Master's Degree Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Security Preferred
10+ years Experience in large scale internet service network management Required
10+ years Experience in network architecture, engineering, and design Required
1-3 years Supervisor/management experience Required

Knowledge of server operations and security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion prevention, and data loss prevention
Knowledge of industry trends related to information systems and related technology, network protocols, architectures, and topologies
Extensive knowledge of core network equipment supporting ISP Networks, FTTx, Metro Ethernet, DWDM, fiber plant, and telecom power
Problem solving and execution skills in driving transformation and change
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Advances computer skills that applies a high degree of working knowledge of telecommunication networking operations and provisions
Expert knowledge of network architecture and design, including the ability to develop and implement designs that meet business requirements
