Summary of Duties:
The Fiscal Analyst 3 works with the CAHNRS Director of Finance in leading CAHNRS Finance and Administration providing specialized fiscal support, day-to-day oversight, and guidance to the Fiscal Specialist 2 position in CAHNRS Finance and Administration for the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences in accordance with WSU, CAHNRS and other state/federal best practices and requirements.
Fiscal Analyst 3 is responsible for performing, coordinating, and overseeing a variety of professional financial reviews and analysis of fiscal and budget data including, position allocations, adjustments, preparing annual position budget projections, and the reconciliation of positions expenditures. Developing, monitoring, reconciling, and reporting budgets, reviewing actual expenses monthly, quarterly, annually, and biennially, and advising on balances and funding issues. The position will also assist in leading, assigning work, and assessing the CAHNRS Finance and Administration fiscal staff. Specifically providing supervision/oversight of day-to-day work duties and assisting the Director of Finance in providing guidance, support, and training to staff.
Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and two (2) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent education/experience.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the use of financial, administrative systems or similar systems.
Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Demonstrated fiscal knowledge and experience.
Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with computer applications such as OBIEE and Workday.
Knowledge of WSU Business Policies and Procedures.
Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
