Reporting to the Enterprise Development and Integration Manager, the Business Analyst works closely with stakeholders in various university units and departments to gather and document business requirements and assist in design, development, implementation and maintenance of IT systems and solutions. The Business Analyst brings a high degree of competence, knowledge, and creativity in resolving end user problems in a production environment. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of business processes, as well as technical expertise in software development, development operations and project management.
The Business Analyst will primarily perform the following duties:
Work closely with stakeholders and project management teams to identify and document business requirements for IT projects.
Collaborate with a team of highly skilled developers to ensure that requirements are properly converted into technical solutions that meet business needs.
Conduct integrated testing and user acceptance testing to ensure that systems meet business requirements.
Participate in the university’s IT modernization initiatives and coordinate various planning and implementation tasks.
Interact with end users to understand and translate daily operational requests and problems into applicable well-managed work items.
Coordinate with development, IT services / support teams to fulfill cross-functional jobs in a timely manner to support end users in the university production systems and applications.
Maintain effective communications with users and managers and provide regular updates on project status.
Identify opportunities for business and development process improvement and automation.
Maintain knowledge base of supported systems and best practices.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Bachelor’s degree; three or more years of related and progressively more responsible work experience in implementing and supporting enterprise projects; technical experience in converting requirement to work items in tools like Jira; experience with application testing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT business analysis, software solution implementation, or related field. Experience in working with university systems is a plus.
• Experience in software development, databases, and application security.
• Experience with software testing and testing tools, for instance, Selenium.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills.
• An excellent team collaborator.
