Job Description Summary:
Oakland University Athletics is a Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. Our Athletic Department is looking for a highly organized, driven and detail oriented individual to fill the position of Director of Player Development and Brand Management.
This position reports directly to the Head Coach for Women's Basketball. This position will be responsible for assisting the head coach in the following areas: organize/coordinate all team travel, assist with budget development, analysis, recap and balancing, coordinating recruiting visits, player/parent contact and communication, various duties related to the team/players, e.g. housing, etc.
This position will oversee equipment management including inventory and staff apparel.
Oversight of team manager(s).
Coordinate all travel expense summaries, credit card statements, invoices, etc.
Game day related duties, e.g. comp ticket lists, etc.
Various other administrative duties.
This position will have on court duties as allowed by new NCAA legislation.
This position should have a knowledge of NCAA rules as it pertains to assigned job duties and the scope of employment.
In addition, the individual will be responsible for obtaining proper guidance or approval from Athletics Compliance prior to participating in select activities, as defined by NCAA bylaws or institutional policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience in a NCAA Division I basketball program and/or significant experience in coaching, scheduling and planning.
Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations.
Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills, demonstrated integrity, strong leadership, and the willingness to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, staff, administration, campus partners and community members.
Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays depending on work and game schedules.
Demonstrated support for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft software (word, excel, publisher specifically).
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles.
Perform all job duties in a manner consistent with NCAA, conference and University rules, regulations, ordinances, policies, procedures and guidelines.
Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the University by the University's insurance carrier.
