The Accounting Analyst will assist with several aspects of financial analysis for multiple business units within W. R. Berkley Corporation, including Union Standard Insurance Group.  The Financial Analyst will perform an interesting mix of core responsibilities and assist with key initiatives.  The Financial Analyst will have an ownership and continuous improvement mindset, with the opportunity to utilize technology to enhance efficiencies.  Opportunity for upward mobility.  Hybrid work environment. 

• Prepare monthly journal entries and assist in the maintenance of the general ledger system, including asset management and accounts payable modules
• Assist with financial reporting
• Assist with financial analysis, including time sensitive ad hoc information requests
• Assist with controllership, especially as it relates to the preparation of account reconciliations
• Key performance indicators, dashboards and scorecards
• Operating plans, budgets and reforecasts

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Minimum 3 years of accounting and/or financial analysis experience
• Minimum 3 year of financial systems experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of the Property and Casualty insurance industry preferred
• Advanced financial application and/or data management skills (i.e., Excel and SQL, etc.)
