The IT Business Analyst III is responsible for business analysis and conceptual solution design of medium to large sized, moderately to highly complex business process and IT projects. The position requires a high degree of emotional intelligence and collaborates with cross-functional and diverse teams. Collaborates with leaders, subject matter experts, end users, and technical staff to identify and understand business needs, propose solutions, and be part of the team implementing those solutions. Elicits and documents business requirements using agile and waterfall methodologies as the situation warrants. Creates appropriate business analysis documentation artifacts. Analyzes broadly-defined areas to align and refine IT and service backlogs with institutional strategy and business value. Leads business analysis on enterprise projects as needed.
Duties Include:
Business Analysis – Conduct in-depth business analysis and propose solutions for medium to large-sized, moderately to highly complex projects including but not limited to: business process re-engineering, vendor/product analysis and recommendation, SWOT analysis, cost benefit analysis, return on investment, feature/gap analysis, feasibility analysis, and business case development. Uses best practices as applicable to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Develop and document use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria to support initiatives and inform user acceptance testing.
Solution Analysis and Design -Using outcome and end-user focused approaches, analyze and propose solutions to solve problems and meet customer needs. Conduct discovery meetings with clients. Research best practices, solutions, and consult with peer institutions. Develop and document business requirements working with customers, technical resources, and subject matter experts. Negotiate priority of requirements across stakeholders and work with customers to validate solutions using pilots and prototypes. Summarize and present alternative solutions, associated costs, and recommendations to decision makers ranging up to senior executives.
Leadership & Mentoring – Lead the development and adoption of business analysis practices across the organization. Coach and mentor less experienced team members. Collaborate with management to ensure internal standards, practices, processes, and procedures are in place to improve solution delivery. Partner effectively with service owners on agile teams to deliver value to the institution

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
6 years of professional experience in IT Business Analysis or related field.
Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of user experience and business analysis theories, concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations
