The Senior Facilities Data Analyst for Facilities Information and Technology Services (FITS) is responsible for the maintenance, management, and enhancement of The Ohio State Universitys Space Information and Management System (SIMS), and its data, encompassing 1300+ buildings, 119,000+ spaces, and over 42M square feet. As the person primarily responsible for the Universitys space data, they serve as the Data Steward over the Space Data Domain.

Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison between Facilities Information and Technology Services (FITS) and other University departments, consultants, vendors, and external reporting agencies (Board of Regents, etc.) and for space inventory data and SIMS related issues.
Develop and enforce OSU space information standards.
Serve as a liaison between Facilities Information and Technology Services (FITS) and other University departments, consultants, vendors, external reporting agencies (Board of Regents, etc.), and for space inventory data and SIMS-related issues.
Review all space data-related requests and delegate work accordingly.
Create and review the most complex state and federal reporting requests.
Manage the maintenance of core space data in SIMS for all University space through the input of space assignments, onsite building audits, and capturing 360 photos of spaces.
Responsible for a wide range of routine and customized space-related reporting, including the programming of SQL Database queries and scripts to develop custom datasets.
Lead the addition of new data and information into the Space Information and Management System (SIMS) and for expanding the customer base of the tool.
Coordinate training for all University staff in use of SIMS and provides SIMS technical support for system upgrades, end users, and space inventory updates.
Assist in the deployment of all bug patches, systems upgrades, and regression testing following these updates.
Perform a wide range of systems administration in SIMS to improve the user experience and facilitate more efficient access to the system data.
Ensures the quality and accuracy of data and is responsible for understanding the breadth of data and for helping others interpret that data through effective, meaningful, and complex reporting.
Driven by a desire to help their customers make better decisions more quickly through the meaningful use of space-related data.
Detail-oriented and has the ability to work with large amounts of data quickly and intuitively.
Operate with a good deal of autonomy and is expected to drive improvements in the processes and systems that are used to support this position.
Minimum Required Education:
Bachelors Degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience:
Extensive knowledge and understanding of data systems, data reporting, and best practices of data visualization.
Ability to develop in Microsoft SQL Server or other equivalent relational database management systems.
Extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel and modern data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
Ability to organize, catalog, and manage large volumes of files, data, and manuals.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to understand data quality and have a deep commitment to ensuring data is accurate and reliable.
Excellent process mapping and process improvement skills.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Space Information Systems.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Experience with ESRI GIS software
Basic programming skills for analyzing and manipulating data in high-level programming languages such as Python and R.
