Position Summary
This position provides technical and analytical work in developing and configuring Emergency Medicine reporting and research resources. The employee designs, develops, configures and supports reporting solutions for the business, research, and instructional functions of clients on multiple platforms including Power BI, Epic reporting tools, direct SQL, and Excel. Data sources for reporting include the Epic EMR reporting databases and reporting tools (Clarity, Caboodle, and Reporting Workbench), REDCap, and various departmentally held datasets. Solutions often require merging of data across datasets.
Efforts are collaborative. The employee will work with other members of the Departmentâ™s informatics and analytics team, linking technical knowledge with business, research, and instructional knowledge. Duties include client needs-assessment as well as evaluating appropriateness of available platforms. The employee should be able to work independently with supervision as needed.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Develops projects of moderate size and complexity.
Determines appropriate architecture, and other technical solutions, and makes relevant recommendations to clients.
Develops new reports and maintains existing reports that meet the information needs of the Department.
Develops detailed specification documents with clear deliverables and timelines.
Defines database requirements, functionality, and utilization.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrates expertise in advanced reporting environments essential.
Experience with Power BI.
Certification in Epic Clarity Data Models.
Planning and Organizing: Ability to organize and follow complex and/or detailed technical procedures; ability to work independently and performs job with minimal supervision.
Project Management: Ability to manage one module of a larger project or responsible for projects of limited complexity.
Technical Knowledge: Competent to work on most phases of application systems analysis and programming without guidance.
Technical Solution Development: Ability to devise or modify applications to solve moderately complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations; knowledge of system development and/or maintenance technologies to support and maintain the infrastructure on which assigned applications reside.
Technical Support: Knowledge of technical features to suggest modifications to prevent future problems.
Consultancy Skills: Ability to consult with clients and higher-level technicians and analysts to resolve technical problems and ensure client satisfaction; ability to interact with client to discuss alternative technical solutions.
Required Qualifications
Certification or degree in computer programming from a technical school or college plus two years of relevant work experience required; additional relevant programming experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for required education.

Salary Range
$64,700.00 - $110,500.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
