Under the supervision of the director, incumbent is the department Substitute at 5 centers, Early Childhood Education Center, Verano Preschool, Children's Center, Extended Day Center and Infant Toddler Center. Responsible for co-supervising the day-to-day operation of the children in licensed day care facilities serving children from 3 months to 12 years of age. Responsibilities include planning curriculum and outdoor activities, assist in supervision of practicum and field study students

$23.88 - $33.84 (Hourly Rate)
Required:
A minimum of 3 units in Infant Development, 2 years working in licensed day care facilities, bachelors degree in related field.
Must have three units of Infant Toddler course work completed with a passing grade.
Current California Child Development Program Permit
Knowledge of first aid and health practices appropriate for children ages 3 months to 12 years of age. Knowledge of appropriate activities (physical, emotional, language, social and cognitive) for this age group. Experience working with infants, preschool and school aged children in a supervised capacity A minimum of 3 units in Infant Development Ability to plan, organize and direct a challenging developmental and instructional program for infants, toddlers, preschool and school aged children Ability to work effectively as a member of a child development team, with children, parents, staff members, and community representatives in providing a quality educational program. Effective communication skills, both with children and adults.
Preferred:
Ability to plan, organize and direct a challenging developmental and instructional program for infants, toddlers, preschool and school aged children
Thorough understanding of child development and the philosophy and methodology of early childhood education, as well as changes taking place in the field.
Familiarity with federal and state health safety regulations applicable to a childcare facility. Knowledgeable of NAYEC Accreditation Criteria
Special Conditions Required:
This is a in person position, teachers may be assigned shifts between 7:30 AM- 6:00 PM, Monday- Friday depending on the needs of the department. Documentation of MMR and DTAP immunizations as required by Community Care Licensing, documentation of absence of active tuberculosis
