Description:
Our client has an immediate need for a Supervisor of OMS Application Development & Support, who will be responsible for participating in project, systems analysis, configuration, integration, and enhancement activities, as well as activities related to maintenance and support of the Outage Management System
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field
5 or more years of relevant experience
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with experience managing technical teams
Experienced in communication and organizational skills, and the ability to exhibit sound judgment and express verbal and written information effectively
Experience with MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Visio.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with aggressive project timeframes
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Master’s of Science in IT or Engineering, with supporting conflict management and leadership experience is a plus
Responsibilities:
Supervising one or more project teams, application development, integration, and modification activities, as well as related maintenance and support
Participating in project planning sessions with team members to analyze Business IT requirements
Understanding the existing application from a functional and technical point of view and providing the solution
Engaging and providing interactions with OMS clients
Supporting the Business Analytics team to determine the company’s current data quality and maturity levels; assisting in the development of an OMS data quality strategy; and reinforcing the roadmap for measurable data quality improvement across the OMS System
Working with the project team to define and design project scope
Developing and integrating applications per written specifications
Translating business and technical requirements into application modules
Utilizing at least one programming language or software technology
Undertaking an inventory of all data, determining its format, security, ownership, and quality
Collaborating with the Business Analytics team to also determine which data should – and shouldn’t be captured
Supervising the preparation and presentation of status updates for team assignments and projects
Supervising and reviewing modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with written specifications and industry standards
Supervising the development of software application modules using disciplined software development processes
Supervising the testing and implementation of application modules that have been developed or modified, ensuring each application meets the needs of client and business
Providing ongoing maintenance of client/server applications or tools
Handling Tier II support issues (tickets) within the area of expertise
Participating in project planning sessions with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyze requirements and provide design recommendations
Defining and developing the project scope of multiple projects with assistance from the project team
Assessing/developing recommendations for buy vs. build decisions
Coordinating with cross-functional teams to develop plans and end-to-end solutions
Providing design recommendations, developing application, and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces
Translating business and technical requirements into cross-functional business application systems and business processes
Utilizing multiple programming languages and software technologies.
Preparing and presenting status updates for various projects to all levels of the organization
Making complex modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with high-level specifications and industry standards using disciplined software development processes
Implementing cross-functional systems which have been developed or modified, ensuring system meets the needs of client and business
Providing ongoing maintenance of applications or tools Handling Tier II and Tier III support issues (tickets) within the area of expertise. Guides root cause investigations
