Position Summary:
Langson IMCA is a start-up organization with limited, though growing, personnel and financial resources within a large, established institution that is part of the University of California public education system. It was founded in 2017 following the gift to UCI of two important private collections of California Art. Two years later, the university hired acclaimed art museum leader and educator Kim Kanatani as its inaugural director to guide the museum's future, envisioned as the seminal investigator and presenter of California's influence and innovation through art. Langson IMCA brings together students, faculty, scholars, artists, and other publics to generate new knowledge and learning, and foster transformative experiences inspired by California Art and its global contexts.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Registration and Collections Management, the Senior Data Systems Analyst will be responsible for managing the systems used to document and share the art collection and collaborating with other departments to facilitate robust digital access to the collection. Applies skills as a seasoned, experienced data / information management professional with full understanding of museum industry practices and department methodologies, policies and procedures to resolve complex and wide-ranging issues where analyses of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Demonstrates competency in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions. The Senior Data Systems Analyst will define departmental data management needs and participate in institution-wide digital strategy discussions; will work closely with museum staff and consultants to support them in their use of collections data stored in the collections management system (EmbARK) and the online art collections portal (WebKiosk).

$81,900.00 - $99,050.00 (Annual Salary) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $81,900.00 - $150,500.00 (Annual Salary)
Required:
3-5 years of database administration and digital asset management experience
Bachelor's degree in in art, art history, information technology, library science, museum studies, related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Ability to prepare data models unassisted. Familiarity with data model patterns in one or more common business or academic domains. Familiarity with logical data design and data mapping or data conversion.
Familiarity with data quality and governance issues and requirements. Ability to represent relevant information in abstract models.
Thorough knowledge of data management systems, practices and standards. Thorough knowledge of relevant rules and regulations. Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated service orientation skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills. Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to abstract information requirements from real-world processes to understand information flows in computer systems.
Ability to represent relevant information in abstract models. Critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of Mac and PC operating systems Knowledge of and experience using SQL, XML, and HTML.
Preferred:
Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Experience with EmbARK and WebKiosk desirable.
