The Senior Business Analyst reports directly to the Business Officer of the College of Arts & Sciences and will support the Business Officer's initiatives on all financial, administrative, and strategic matters within the College of Arts and Sciences. A Bachelor's degree in accounting, statistics, or related field; five years of relevant experience, and an active Christian faith are required. A Masters' degree in Data Analytics or Data Science, and seven years of relevant experience are preferred. Experience will not be considered in lieu of the education requirement. All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Additional Requirements:
3+ years of finance/accounting is required. Experience in higher education is strongly preferred.
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, specifically with common practices and procedures within higher education IT.
Experience with reporting and dashboarding systems.
Accounting proficiency is preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Excel, data management, reporting, and dashboarding systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into informative data driven conclusions and meaningful results.
Ability to leverage software for financial reporting and analytics.
Ability to envision improvements in current reporting processes and provide recommendations for enhanced capabilities.
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong collaborative mindset.
What You Will Do
Functions:
Prepares strategic financial analysis for the Dean of College of Arts and Sciences and Business Officer of College of Arts and Sciences.
Assists the Business Officer with new opportunities for process and reporting improvements.
Work with the department chairs to increase communication between the Dean's office and the departments.
Assists the Business Officer and the Arts & Sciences leadership team with personnel resource planning, recruiting, and hiring processes.
Ensures support of audit and compliance functions, maintaining internal controls, and risk management reviews.
Ability to work with the Deans on ad-hoc analysis requests and provide presentation ready deliverables and data driven conclusions on College of Arts & Sciences data.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Business Officer in delivering financial data to College of Arts and Sciences leadership team in easy to digest graphics and reports.
Deliver financial reporting of Budgets to Actuals review for College of Arts and Sciences and departments to A&S leadership.
Work on Human Resources data including FTE counts and enrollment data to create meaningful analytics for the Dean and Business Officer.
Collaborate with Department Chairs on financial decision making and data analysis.
Extract data from Baylor systems, for example Digital Measures.
Ad-hoc metric reporting and development.
