Position Summary:

Incumbent is responsible for maintaining coded data quality through ongoing quality review and assessment of patient records. Performs concurrent audits. Prepares reports for management review, identifies trends, and takes appropriate actions in response. Conducts retrospective audits. Conducts individual coding audits. In conjunction with Coding Manager, contributes to the development of educational/training opportunities for physicians and staff to address coding deficiencies identified.

Salary Range:

Annual Rate Minimum $73,900.00 Midpoint $103,800.00 Maximum $133,700.00

Required Qualifications:

Credentialed through the American Health Information Management Association (RHIT/RHIA)

User level experience using personal computers, particularly with encoding, abstracting and prospective payment grouper systems

Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in the department and across the Health System

Skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of the job duties

Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, disease process and medical terminology

Ability to work independently and be a self starter

Strong knowledge of prospective payment systems and corporate compliance programs

Ability to analyze data for trends and develop actions in response to findings

Ability to meet deadlines and respond well to frequent changes in regulation

Demonstrate interpersonal and team skills, and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

CCS credential

Minimum of 2 years of coding audit experience

Ability to generate reports for management review that present audit results in a clear manner
