Job Description:
The National Institute of Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Education (NIAMRRE) hosted by Iowa State University is currently accepting applications for a Member Development Specialist, which will be classified as a Program Specialist II. NIAMRRE (niamrre.org) is a member organization that drives cross-sector engagement and coordinated action to combat the global threat of Antimicrobial Resistance across humans, animals, and the environment. Our focus areas are research, collaboration, education and advocacy.

The Member Development Specialist plays a key role in engaging with NIAMRRE members to help identify opportunities to connect people, resources, and ideas to accelerate and synergize efforts to combat antibiotic resistance. This position will take the lead in the execution of a comprehensive membership management strategy for the institute, working collaboratively with the NIAMRRE team and our members to identify priority opportunities to facilitate networking and engagement, as well as opportunities to create products, programs, events, and/or resources that benefit NIAMRRE members. This position will interact with a broad range of NIAMRRE stakeholders and build relationships on behalf of the institute.

Specific responsibilities include:
Managing the membership program (e.g., managing and maintaining member databases, conducting member onboarding, managing membership inquiries)
Membership engagement (builds individual relationships with members and identifies opportunities to deliver value to members, works with leadership team for engagement of members in alignment with NIAMRRE strategic plan, manages and promotes NIAMRRE Exchange, the primary communication platform for members)
Event planning and management (plans national NIAMRRE annual conference, plans monthly member spotlight webinar series, and supports planning of ad hoc events, such as workshops, networking events, etc.)
The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter that possesses a passion for engaging with others to help foster collaborations and develop relationships that can create positive impact; have excellent networking, organizational, customer service, and planning skills; have the desire to learn, grow, and innovate as a member of a small team; and have the ability to work well with broad groups of individuals.

This will be a one-year fixed term position, with the opportunity for renewal.
