Job Description:
At Regions, our Financial Crimes Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) SAR Filing Analyst completes extensive thorough quality review of all non-suspicious and suspicious activity narratives and files to determine if the product is sufficient to meet regulatory and internal policy and procedures. This role will make decisions or recommendations in relation to case secondary reviews but may need to refer more complex problems to supervisors or other experts.
Primary Responsibilities
Reviews all cases (non-suspicious and suspicious), case management system and case documentations for completeness and accuracy
Performs a variety of moderately complex cases secondary reviews to assist BSA AML with compliance of all Anti Money Laundering program requirements
Communicates with internal business units and senior management, as needed
Ensures compliance with approved policies and procedures related to BSA/AML including case documentation
Acts as a resource to other analysts
May lead projects that contributes to work flow or process change and redesign
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years experience in BSA/AML or loss prevention/fraud
Or a High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years experience in BSA/AML or loss prevention/fraud
Preferences
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or other relevant fields
Previous work experience analyzing customer financial activity
Prior BSA/AML, fraud, loss prevention, or corporate security investigative experience or experience analyzing customer financial activity for unusual behavior
Certifications: Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or other relevant certifications
Skills and Competencies
Ability to multi-task and set priorities
Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills
Exhibits strong basic executional capabilities and continue to build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers
Experience with case management systems, databases, and similar automation
Experience with search engines
Interpersonal and negotiation skills
Knowledge of the Bank's mainframe systems and applications
Thorough knowledge of Private Banking, Wire Transfers, BSA/AML, OFAC and FinCEN related laws and regulations
Remote - This role can work remote within a reasonable driving distance to a Branch, Consumer Operations, or Professional Office Building.
