The Dean's Office provides the administrative and operational leadership for the UC Davis School of Medicine. The Special Projects Analyst provides experienced, generalist staffing support to the UC Davis School of Medicine Dean's Office to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of Dean's and Executive level committees, initiatives, programs, and projects, in a variety of areas, including but not limited to operations, finance and budget planning, strategic planning, resource management, facilities, and capital planning. The incumbent may be assigned projects with few parameters and must work independently to research, develop, plan, and/or execute on assignments, with guidance from the Dean's Office team.
This position reports to the Executive Assistant Dean for Administration and Finance (EAD) and will independently coordinate all activities related to projects assigned by Dean's Office Leadership (including EAD, Senior Assistant Dean for Strategic Initiatives, Chief of Staff, and Project Team Manager).

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. Experience with administrative structure, traditions, hierarchy, decision-making and expectations at the Dean or Executive level.
Demonstrated experience maintaining a high degree of discretion, diplomacy, integrity, sound judgment, and sensitivity to confidentiality and privacy involving faculty, students, appeal actions or other controversial matters.
Experience creating new approaches and/or modifying existing approaches to address the needs of the project or situation.
Demonstrated excellent administrative, organizational, and analytical skills.
Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency using word processing, e-mail, computer scheduling skills, desktop publishing, graphics, slide preparation, and database software. I.e., Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Publisher, PowerPoint, Access, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, Project, Tableau, PowerBI, Visio, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with UC systemwide, UC Davis campus wide and School of Medicine or UC Davis Health administrative organization, policies, and procedures.

The UC Davis School of Medicine Dean's Office is responsible for the overall administration of activities relevant to the School of Medicine. The school consists of 25 departments and 15 centers. The Dean, her leadership team, and her office provide oversight, support, and guidance to the departments and maintain a collaborative connection between UC Davis Campus and UC Davis Medical Center to support the mission areas of education, research, clinical care, and community.
