Development Assistant positions are currentlyavailable in the following units:

Annual Giving: This unit is responsible for securing current-use dollars for Boston College bycollaborating with frontline fundraisers from all annual, leadership, major,and principal giving units, through leadership volunteer activity and annual donorrecognition. The Development Assistant reports directly to the AssociateVice President for Annual and Leadership Giving.

Corporate & Foundation Relations: Fundraising work in this unit is focused on supporting academicunits across the university through the identification, cultivation,solicitation, and stewardship activities of foundations and corporations forfunding of $50,000-$1,000,000+. Positions in the CFR unit provide support for2-3 CFR officers. Additional responsibilities include assisting with thepreparation of proposals and reports, collaborating with the Office forSponsored Programs, and researching corporate and foundation funders.

Gift Planning: This team focuses onsecuring planned gifts to Boston College, often through bequests andbeneficiary designation, which enables individuals to meet their financial andphilanthropic goals while also strengthening the BC experience for the nextgeneration of Eagles. The Development Assistant reports to the Director of GiftPlanning and also assists the Director with the preparation and implementationof Gift Planning marketing and communications and events.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $43,850 to$54,800; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

Thisposition requires 2-3 years of increasingly responsible administrativeexperience in a professional setting; strong interpersonal and organizationalskills with attention to detail and accuracy; excellent oral and written communicationskills including effective phone communication skills; accurate typing skills; aworking knowledge of Windows PC, including Microsoft Office, and familiaritywith Customer Relationship Management databases; exceptional proofreading;strong attention to detail; a commitment to accuracy; and very adept athandling multiple tasks and working well within deadlines. Also requires good judgment, discretion inhandling confidential materials, ability to work independently without close supervision,and flexibility to work beyond the regular hours of the workday whennecessary. Candidate must possess solidknowledge of grammar and punctuation.

Requiresa high school diploma, bachelor's degree preferred. Candidates should be highly motivated to workin a fast-paced environment that will require some night and evening work.

Mustbe a team player who is highly motivated and dedicated to the goals ofadvancing higher education and have an appreciation for Jesuit Catholiceducation and the goals and values of Boston College. A desire to build a career in advancement is aplus.
