Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Advancement Systems and Analytics, the Business Intelligence Developer will be responsible for creating high-quality data visualization and analytics content to support DAUR's strategic priorities and develop solutions that provide insights to support the day-to-day business needs of both fundraisers and non-fundraisers.
The incumbent will develop, standardize, simplify and grow DAUR's business intelligence inventory of reports to promote shared data understanding and simplify comprehension of data and information across DAUR business units such as Advancement Services, Development, Alumni Relations, Prospect Research, Stewardship, and Special Events.

After an onboarding period, candidates residing in NY, NJ, CT, or PA within commuting distance of our Manhattan office are eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. This arrangement requires at least three days of in-office presence.
Essential Functions:
Develops professional-quality business intelligence, data visualization, and analytics content in support of DAUR's strategic priorities, primarily using Power BI.
Standardizes and simplifies the business intelligence inventory of reports to promote shared data understanding and ease comprehension across DAUR business.
Collaborates with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, translates them into technical specifications, and designs efficient and visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards.
Consults with colleagues and end users regularly to identify and resolve gaps in DAUR's BI offerings and data accessibility. Documents use cases and usage best practices associated with BI tools and resources to the DAUR community.
Conducts data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and anomalies and work with stakeholders to address them.
Develops complex Power BI data models for accurate and efficient data analysis and visualization.
Creates and maintains data connections and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Power BI.
Optimizes performance and usability of Power BI reports and dashboards by tuning queries, implementing efficient data models, and applying best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Two or more years of business intelligence development experience.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and Power BI service.
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
Experience in working with large and complex datasets from various sources.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and design effective Power BI solutions.
Excellent data visualization skills, with an eye for detail and a strong focus on usability and user experience.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve data-related issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
