Under the direction of the Senior Director, Annual Giving, the Director of Development, Parent Philanthropy & Annual Programs is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the Parent Philanthropy & Engagement program, which seeks to increase and enhance engagement with and raise funds from rated parents whose children are current or former UCI students. The incumbent will lead the Parent Philanthropy team to develop, plan, and implement programs to encourage and increase parent giving and enhance parent relations. The Director will be responsible for identifying and cultivating individual prospects for the Parent Philanthropy program who are capable of making gifts in excess of $100,000.They will directly manage the Senior Associate Director, Parent Philanthropy & Engagement and the Assistant Director, Parent Philanthropy & Engagement to expand parent philanthropy at the the major, leadership and annual giving levels. Additionally, in collaboration with and under the guidance of the Senior Director, Annual Giving, the Director will contribute to managing mobile and online programs and platforms used to engage, solicit and steward alumni and community supporters of UC Irvine. The Director will also directly manage the Event and Marketing Associate, Annual Giving to develop fundraising and engagement programs deployed through crowdfunding, mobile giving, email, websites, social media, e-philanthropy, peer-to-peer, events (in-person, hybrid and virtual), volunteer tools and other mass communication tools as needed, with the expressed goal of prompting and facilitating, charitable giving. The Director will serve as a key contributor to the execution of UCI Giving Day.

$101,000.00 - $118,000.00 (Annual Salary) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $100,599.84 - $190,801.44 (Annual Salary)
Required:
Five years' successful professional development and/or fundraising-related experience, preferably in higher education, OR, any equivalent combinations of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been achieved.
Experience working in a capital campaign and knowledge of concepts from planning phase to conclusion is desired.
Successful experience working with volunteers, leaders and university administrators to ensure an integrated, organized effort.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Demonstrable experience closing major gifts of at least $100,000 Demonstrable experience in stewardship plans leading to additional investments. Advanced knowledge of all aspects of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques. Very strong skills in maintaining confidentiality. Ability to prepare complex and detailed proposals and related materials. Ability to work independently with both school and institutional goals in mind. Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects. Clarity of focus while juggling complex projects and/or deadlines. Ability to meet demanding work schedule expectations. Understanding of academic, research and education functions and operating principals of a major research university
Preferred:
Advanced working knowledge of all aspects of the location, including current issues of concern for both the campus and / or throughout higher education / healthcare generally. Advanced working knowledge of the location, its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure. Advanced knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Salesforce or a comparable donor/prospect database system.
Special Conditions Required:
May work long hours to meet fundraising commitments
Local, regional, and national travel is required.
Must have a CA Drivers license and participate in the DMV pull program.
