Description:

Our client has an immediate need for a Linux System Administrator, who will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, and daily monitoring and maintenance of the Linux environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Experience with Linux-based Applications
• Ability to automate repetitive activities with BASH and other scripting
• Experience with DevOps and GIT Source Control
• Experience with automated software development pipelines (CI/CD)
• Experience with Linux groups and security
• Experience in setting up and supporting applications with associated access groups

Responsibilities:

• Performing normal day-to-day administration of the Linux environment
• Reviewing daily backup reports to remedy failures and increase job success rates
• Collecting, analyzing, and documenting information about the current Linux environment
• Reviewing customer policies and procedures to ensure that they are in line with the best practices of the supported Linux distributions
• Taking ownership of trouble tickets and working them to resolution
• Assisting with ongoing projects that utilize Linux as the Operating System platform
• Performing systems operation support, including storage and server system administration, general troubleshooting, and troubleshooting of complex engineering issues for hardware, software, and network components
• Performing system, as well as file and directory, restores as requested by internal customers
• Performing daily duties related to system health monitoring and system integrity assurance including patching and upgrades
• Maintaining configuration compliance to avoid risks of system outages or compromised data
