Job Description:
At Regions, the Risk Initiative and Integration (RI&I) Analyst will work to ensure Risk Management's proactive partnership internal to Risk and with other groups within the Bank. This role is part of a high performing team that participates in strategic initiatives, continuous improvement identification, process alignment and optimization, stakeholder management, and evaluation of emerging methodologies.
Primary Responsibilities
Contributes to RI&I efforts for its four main functional responsibilities: Enterprise Initiative Enablement, Risk Continuous Improvement, Business Process & Analysis, and Governance & Oversight
Leads research and analysis efforts and providing recommendations on relevant issues and topics
Supports enterprise transformation efforts through identification of opportunities, development of the end-to-end Risk strategy and associated plans for execution, conducting internal/external research, and soliciting feedback from leaders across the Bank
Assesses and provides recommendations around opportunities to improve internal RI&I and overall bank processes as related to execution of major initiatives
Contributes to the execution of major bank initiatives
Researches, recommends, and implements re-engineering methods/tools to streamline and optimize processes, reduce risks, strengthen controls, and improve Regions' ability to manage risk
Assists in the development of risk assessment processes and methodologies to evaluate new technologies and processes
Supports RI&I relationships with key individuals and groups, including partners in Risk, other governing groups, senior and executive leadership, and third parties
Drives continuous improvement through detailed, data-driven analysis to identify opportunities to increase efficiency, prioritize limited resources, and/or align strategic objectives across the Risk organization
Strategically balances business priorities to recommend solutions and timing of implementation
Drives successful change management and support adoption of innovation across Risk Management
Independently manages one or more RI&I effort(s) with minimal oversight
Takes responsibility for contributing to the coaching and development of junior associates
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
Seven (7) years of experience in banking/financial services, risk management, project management, strategy and governance, or related field
Experience and demonstrated effectiveness in service transformation, process redesign/reengineering, change management, communication, relationship management, strategy implementation, and project management
Preferences
PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, or other project management/process improvement certifications
Skills and Competencies
Ability to effectively collaborate with teams and individuals across various levels internally and externally
Ability to effectively work under pressure and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment
Ability to learn additional systems
Ability to obtain support, implement, and influence across organizational boundaries with a focus on collaboration
Ability to research, analyze data, and derive facts
Ability to work independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Strong critical thinking skills and judgement required
Strong leadership and organizational skills
A strong candidate for this role will have knowledge and experience with bank regulation and examination, e.g., Resolution Planning. They may come from legal, treasury, and/or related fields, as well as those listed under requirements. Additional proficiencies in such a candidate include:
High comfort level interacting with and influencing executive-level professionals
Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Creative problem solver who can identify and efficiently sort critical information while strategically planning
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Technical writing, including drafting of procedures and policies, and narratives for regulatory submissions
