As a member of the Information Systems and Services Team within Information Technology, the Business Systems Analyst is responsible for information, data, data visualization and data governance.
Primary responsibilities include supporting business processes, documenting procedures, loading data, sending bulk email communications, writing reports and processing access requests. Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
? Analyze business processes, define and document business process requirements and assist with implementation of business process initiatives ? Review/understand university processes/procedures and make recommendations for improvements
? Review questions/issues with supported software and determine if the software is working as intended and follow-up with the vendor and campus partners as needed ? Create and execute queries/reports using the campus software reporting tools. Including but not limited to WebFOCUS and SQL Developer ? Prepare and execute test plans to ensure desired results are achieved ? Develop and maintain training and documentation for supported software and associated business processes as needed ? Maintain university data dictionary ? Process access requests for Banner and related systems ? Process data loads ? Generate bulk email communications ? Prioritize work inline with institutional expectations ? Work independently and as part of a team ? Other duties as assigned ? Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work ? Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work and actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives
? Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, management information systems or technically related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
Required Experience (minimum requirements)
? One year of experience using a query based reporting tool (e.g. WebFOCUS or Tableau) ? One year of experience writing SQL queries ? Demonstrated understanding of relational databases and standard query languages ? Understanding of enterprise level computer systems (e.g. Banner, PeopleSoft, SalesForce)
Desirable Education and/or Experience
? One year of experience with emphasis on business systems or process analysis ? Experience using Banner software ? Experience in a higher education environment ? Experience using WebFOCUS ? Experience with data governance
? Demonstrated ability to analyze data, processes, and complex situations to determine a best course of action ? Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills ? Excellent organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities and objectives ? Excellent interpersonal, customer service and oral/written communication skills and the ability to document business needs in both technical and non-technical terminology at a variety of skill levels ? Demonstrated ability to work with accuracy, precision, and attention to detail ? Demonstrated ability to use judgment when dealing with confidential information ? Demonstrated ability to deliver results effectively either working independently or on a team ? Demonstrated ability to learn new software ? Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff ? Integrate safety practices into daily activities ? Ability to learn all federal, state, and institutional requirements and laws impacting the delivery of services and systems

Negotiable, starting at $57,000 annually
