This position works a hybrid in-office/remote schedule and the incumbent must reside in California and live a commutable distance from SDSU at time of hire.

WHAT OUR DEPARTMENT DOES
Our Sponsored Research Contracting and Compliance (SRCC) department supports the Foundation's mission by providing effective award negotiations, initiating the subcontracting process for sponsored programs. SRCC works closely with Sponsored Research Development (preaward) and Sponsored Research Administration (post award), the Office of Technology Transfer, as well as SDSU's Research Support Services (compliance) to ensure that compliance, policies and procedures are adhered to in the negotiation and awarding processes. SRCC is also responsible for the institution's Facility Security Clearance.
Responsibilities YOUR ROLE IN CREATING THE UNIVERSITY'S PRESENT AND FUTURE
As the Sponsored Research Contracting Analyst you will be an integral part of the Sponsored Research Contracting and Compliance team. You will work closely with the Contract Specialist and Director as well as collaborate with the Office of Research Support Services. You will be responsible for the receipt, review and processing of awards to verify the completion of any SDSU compliance requirements. Your work will include reviewing incoming sponsored programs award documents, preparing subagreements and ensuring compliance requirements have been satisfied for both awards and subagreements.
THE WORK YOU WILL DO AND MANAGE
As an Sponsored Research Contracting Analyst, you will review, analyze, ,document and process award agreements and prior authorizations to expend documents. You will draft and process subagreements and amendments for review and signature using approved templates. Prior to finalizing awards and subagreements, you will ensure that all relevant compliance is in place or seek approval to deviate from the established processes and procedures. You will assist the Director in reviewing and implementing procedures related to the processing of awards and preparation of subagreements. You may be asked to participate on committees and/or task force groups.
Qualifications THE SKILLS WE NEED
Experience and Education
Completion of sufficient college coursework to successfully perform the required duties of the position and two years of progressively responsible related experience. One year of full time progressively responsible related experience may be substituted for college coursework requirement.
Two years of progressively responsible experience in an institution of higher education, research institution or non-profit organization, or related contract review experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in sponsored programs related compliance, award review and processing, and subagreement preparation.
Previous experience interpreting and applying regulations and requirements.
Experience using software for research administration such as Banner, Etrieve, InfoEd, or other internal award tracking systems.
