Job Overview
The Research Technician - in a temporary/trainee position - will participate in a mentoring and research training program through an NIH/NIA-funded training grant to encourage underserved undergraduates to go on to careers in Aging Biology research. Placements for research experiences will be at GUMC, the GU Department of Biology, and the School of Health.
An active mentoring program will be initiated and students will engage with near peer mentors as well as other relevant training faculty.
As well, they will receive lab bench training, basic statistics and data analysis.
One of nine opportunities, this position is for underserved undergraduates HBCUs.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
Reporting directly to the assigned lab director and gran faculty, the Research Technician will be a part of a research and team that addresses the biology of aging. This individual will report directly to the assigned lab director and grant faculty.
As well, they will communicate and work with other investigators, a project manager, and research assistants.

Requirements and Qualifications
Undergraduate student
Demonstrated track record of interest in research
Exceptional skills in organization and communication
Pay rate is $21 per hour for 8 weeks.
