BUSINESS OVERVIEW
The External Investing Group ("XIG") provides investors with investment and advisory solutions, across leading private equity funds, hedge fund managers, real estate managers, public equity strategies and fixed income strategies. XIG manages globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and a range of advisory services. Our investors access opportunities through new fund commitments, fund-of-fund investments, strategic partnerships, secondary-market investments, co-investments, and seed-capital investments. With over 350 professionals across 11 offices around the world, XIG provides manager diligence, portfolio construction, risk management, and liquidity solutions to investors, drawing on Goldman Sachs' market insights and risk management expertise. We extend these global capabilities to the world's leading sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, governments, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, and family offices, for which we invest or advise on over $300 billion of alternative investments, public equity strategies and fixed income strategies.
Client Portfolio Solutions The Client Portfolio Solutions team is responsible for managing investor relations across the firm's investment businesses. These responsibilities include building portfolio construction proposals for large institutional clients around the world and monitoring its execution, development and production of marketing and other client update materials, hosting client meetings and managing ad-hoc requests related to private markets portfolios and investment strategies, and the collection and analysis of relevant market data. This role is focused on our private equity secondaries strategies.
Principal Responsibilities
Produce and update client materials including but not limited to performance analyses, case studies, update call and annual meeting materials, investor reporting, portfolio review books and other ad hoc client portfolio updates
Prepare content for fundraises, including product profiles, pitch books, and other documents
Work with senior team members in managing client deliverables and communications, as well as new business development activities such as completion of requests for information (RFIs) and due diligence questionnaires (DDQs)
Effectively articulate the role of private equity strategies within a client's portfolio and explain to internal and external stakeholders the investment strategy
Answer questions from sales teams across all channels (private wealth, institutional, third party distribution)
Coordinate closely with investment team and other internal stakeholders such as legal, risk management, operations, compliance, controllers and tax in order to respond to requests from clients and senior management
Qualifications
Strong interest in private markets and investor relations
Excellent analytical, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
Attention to detail and ability to deliver high levels of accuracy
Knowledge and understanding of Excel, PowerPoint and Word and adaptability to learn other software products
Candidate must be a team player and self-motivated, demonstrating a willingness to take on more responsibility over time
Minimum 1-2 years of experience required
Salary Range The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $90000-$125000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
