USC Student Health provides a comprehensive campus health program including mental health services, medical services, prevention and health promotion, health communications, the student health insurance plan, and public health services to improve the health of the USC population. Mental Health services support students so that they may achieve their academic and personal goals through the Department of Psychiatrys Counseling and Mental Health Division (CMH). Description of RSVP
Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention and Services (RSVP)is a campus resource, support, and referral center for gender-based issues of harm and abuse, educational programming regarding gender based harm, advocacy and confidential crisis intervention and short-term clinical services. RSVP provides an immediate response to student survivors who seek trauma-informed therapy, consultation, advocacy and support following sexual/gender-based trauma. RSVP specializes in gender and power-based harm (e.g., sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking) and is part of the Department of Psychiatrys largerCounseling and Mental Healthdivision within USC Student Health. RSVP exists to facilitate the success of students who have experienced sexual/gender-based harm during their time at USC. RSVP also provides educational and awareness programs to enhance students understanding of sexual violence, relationship abuse, stalking, and healthy relationships/sexuality.
RSVP provides a multi-tiered approach to preventing and treating gender-based harm. RSVP utilizes the Social-Ecological Model of Violence Prevention, which serves as one of the fields best practices and includes a four-level (society, community, relationship and individual) approach to violence prevention. Through education and outreach, RSVP is contributing to immediate increases in community awareness and long-term increases in societal understanding of power-based harm. RSVP serves as a resource throughout USC to train campus staff and faculty in trauma-informed responses to survivors and inform campus policy and procedures. Additionally, by providing treatment for survivors of power-based harm through individual therapy, group therapy, on-campus advocacy, and case management, RSVP is able to address individual-level healing and prevention of re-victimization or the perpetuation of cycles of violence.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with oversight and supervisory roles among the prevention team (i.e. team of Learning and Development Specialists, Violence Prevention Educators) and the RSVP student workers
Assist with the development and delivery of a comprehensive, multiculturally and trauma-informed curriculum on affirmative consent, healthy relationships, and violence prevention to students, faculty, and staff ensuring best practices
Provide/deliver interactive presentations on affirmative consent, healthy relationships and violence prevention to students, faculty, and staff
Assist in determining most effective violence prevention educational methods
Assist with scheduling mandatory educational sessions for 1st-3rdyear undergraduate students throughout the academic year
Monitor, track, evaluate, and report on the compliance and offerings of the mandatory educational curriculum and delivery/educational method
Manage and strategize mandatory educational non-compliance rates, tracking and non-compliance communication efforts
Manage and update Standard Operating Procedures for the delivery/educational platform that is responsible for registration and attendance to mandatory educational sessions
Monitor and track the number and types of presentations given on a monthly basis
Compile accurate data and report program activities, goals, and needs (e.g., numbers of students, types of presentations and trainings, outcomes, etc.)
Conduct evaluations of trainings (e.g., pre/post- tests, participant satisfaction, periodic evaluations, etc.), and contribute to the analysis and interpretation of evaluation results
Coordinate outreach activities with various campus stakeholders and assign outreach requests amongst the prevention team
Participate in development and refinement of relevant curriculum program for violence prevention presentations
Promote and schedule presentations to various sectors of the campus community, including on-ground/campus, off-campus, and online
Act as a representative and advocate for the issues and concerns of students in the campus community surrounding the issues of dating violence and sexual assault
Participate in outreach activities with various campus stakeholders
Promote violence prevention training products and services, and raise awareness of violence prevention resources through RSVP
Perform other duties as necessary or assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree
Minimum Experience: 3 years of experience working in violence prevention and education with college students
Minimum Field of Expertise: Experience in developing and conducting training classes. Development of instructional materials.
This position provides services to increase awareness of bystander intervention, domestic, dating, and sexual violence and seeks to increase the development of healthy attitudes and behaviors that reduce gendered-based violence and power-based harm through the provision of sexual violence/dating violence prevention education and training to students, faculty and staff, either on-campus, off-campus or online.
The annual base salary for this position is $83,972.95-$90,000.00.
