The Information Systems Analyst is directly responsible for the comprehensive vision and implementation of the National Center for Interventional Biophotonic Technologies (NCIBT) IT computational infrastructure and will serve as its technical administrator.
The position is responsible for project management, database development, data engineering, and IT training and technical support to meet individual user and program needs.
The individual will independently collaborate with the IT partners on Campus and School of Medicine to fulfill the technical mission of the NCIBT for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or other related fields.
5+ years relevant work experience
Fluent in using scientific computing environments, e.g. HPC cluster (CPUs and GPUs) or cloud.
Proficiency with high performance computing and system architecture.
Advanced skills and experience with independently resolving complex computing / data / CI problems using introductory and / or intermediate principles.
Advanced knowledge relating to highly complex database system design.
Ability to curate, clean, and organize large and messy datasets; to write code to query and transform both unstructured and structured data.
Advanced skills and experience associated multiple of the following: artificial intelligence; method and machine learning; MatLab; and server storage.
Demonstrate the abilities to propose, initiate, and carry out ambitious data-intensive research projects.
Self-motivated and works well independently.
Strong collaboration skills with highly technical researchers and ability to engage across a variety of methodological fields, computational platforms, and ideally, research domains.
Excellent and demonstrated ability to regularly, effectively communicate to management teams.

Department Overview
The NCIBT will advance two optical imaging technologies developed at UC Davis - interventional fluorescence lifetime imaging, or iFLIM, and interferometric diffuse optical spectroscopy, or iDOS - and combine them with an AI-deep learning platform to provide real-time guidance of decision-making during medical and surgical procedures. The center will support research and development, clinical application, and training and education of the new technologies and promote their adoption to improve the quality of interventional health care. This Center is administered within the Department of Neurological Surgery with substantial stakeholders in the School of Medicine and the College of Engineering and the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
