Incumbent provides routine informatics support for EPIC and Ancillary Departmental Systems. Additionally, provides support for the hardware and software environments necessary to ensure effective operations and gives guidance relative to new applications and technology.
Essential Job Functions:

Provides application support for assigned departments and work groups. Supports the hardware and software environments across all platforms, including but not limited to, application support, hardware support and troubleshooting, and network support and troubleshooting. Works closely with the Applications team assigned to these areas to coordinate and collaborate with various stakeholders, system users, HAIS, and/or vendors to investigate problems and to devise solutions. ( 40%
IS: Works closely with multi-disciplinary users to understand the specific informatics requirements and to ensure the systems meet their needs. 20%
IS: Serves as system support to maintain the integrity and operation of clinical systems. Monitors the systems to ensure reliability, accessibility and issue management for all users. 30%
IS: Assists in the guiding departments, from a technical level, with new applications and technology initiatives. 10%

Required Qualifications:
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Working knowledge of wireless network configurations and limitations related to a clinical environment
Some knowledge of open source operating systems such as Linux
Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with internal and/or external customers
Understanding of DNS, DHCP, WINS
Must carry a pager/phone and provide on-call support for IT related issues
Thorough understanding of Microsoft Active Directory
Working knowledge of Thin client and other terminal related technologies
Prior experience supporting and configuring bio medical device interfacing to documentation systems
Ability to independently problem solve Desktop issues
Prior experience supporting clinical end users in a rapidly changing environment
Knowledge of operating system internals, file systems, functions of hardware components, and how hardware and software components work together to form a computer system
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
4+ years desktop support experience in a networked business environment
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
Extensive experience with Windows XP/Vista/7/10
Experience with Device Integration middleware such as Capsule, DeviceConX and Cerner
General knowledge of Phone devices
Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols
Experience using Microsoft Office Applications
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Epic EMR and its various modules
Prior experience supporting end users in the Clinical environment
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or other healthcare related field with course work in systems analysis and development
