Under general supervision of the Financial Services Manager, serve as the Financial Program Analyst at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH). Responsible for fiscal management and analysis of financial data, including purchasing card program, capital equipment management and hospital purchasing management. Independently investigate questions and use critical thinking skills to analyze complex data and develop meaningful solutions to specific problems. Manage and serve as subject matter expert for hospital purchasing and purchasing card program for the VMTH. Work with changing priorities and demanding workload. Works in a highly independent capacity to support the Financial Services Manager.
RECRUITMENT PERIOD ONE MONTH: Applicants will be screened after two weeks; and then on a weekly basis. The position can be filled prior to the removal date.

Minimum Qualifications

Accounting experience analyzing and recording financial transactions and verifying appropriateness of expenditures.
Experience using MS Excel to perform detailed analyses, including VLOOKUPS; word processing, with automated financial systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro and website applications.
Mathematical and analytical skills to independently and effectively monitor and forecast expenditures and compile various reports; to comprehend, organize and analyze statistical data; and to formulate summaries on accounts based on data analysis.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze complex data, anticipate and identify problems, perform research, and develop solutions to specific problems, provide leadership and decision-making skills.
Excellent attention to detail in reviewing, compiling, analyzing and presenting data, with focus on accuracy.
Excellent organizational skills to take appropriate initiative and prioritize work under pressure of deadlines, despite frequent interruptions in a complex self-supporting unit, with attention to detail to ensure data integrity.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to prepare clear, accurate correspondence and reports; and to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally in person, by phone and by electronic mail.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Aggie Enterprise or Oracle based financial system, Aggie Expense, Cognos and Veterinary Medical and Administrative Computer System (VMACS).
Experience interpreting and applying University and campus policy and procedures, specifically accounting practices and procedures; purchasing policies and business contracts.
Experience in reviewing, understanding, applying and working with purchasing policies and procedures.
Knowledge of UC clinical education organizations, respective roles, financial policies and practices as they relate to business operations including budgeting, accounting, business contracts, purchasing, payroll, and contracting.
