Summary of Duties:
This position will perform professional-level work in support of research, project management, and extension activities in tree crops and wine grapes associated with two federally-funded multi-institutional USDA-SCRI grant projects, including: 'Pathogen Monitoring and Disease Management within a Vineyard FRAMEwork', led by Dr. Michelle Moyer (WSU Prosser IAREC), and 'Preparing U.S. Pome Fruit Production for Extreme Temperatures in a Changing Climate', led by Dr. Lee Kalcsits (WSU Wenatchee TFREC). The incumbent will provide critical organizational support for the successful completion of these 4-year grants, in addition to assisting in applied research and extension projects associated with each grant. The incumbent will perform a wide range of duties including laboratory analyses to accomplish research goals; web site development and maintenance; budget administration and reporting; preparing graphics and reports; technical editing of journal manuscripts; managing procurement activities for research programs; assist with developing and implementing lab policies and procedures, and coordinating grant-related project meetings and extension workshops. The incumbent will work with other technical staff and scientists to achieve project goals.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Education (e.g., Master's degree in an appropriately-related discipline), can be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Technical editing experience and advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel. PowerPoint, and WordPress required, and the ability to learn new software is required.
Experience in professional development and delivery of web-based content, including but not limited to: website updating, social media content delivery.
Additional requirements include the ability to locate and purchase supplies, schedule and execute activities independently, and learn new procedures and protocols.
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with small video production and video editing software.
Experience in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
Experience in video conferencing platforms (ZOOM, TEAMS, etc).
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

This is a temporary position expected to end on September 30, 2025. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
