Your Role on the Team
Under the general direction of the Director of Development, the Associate Director of Development is a fundraising professional who works collaboratively with the Director of Development and University Advancement colleagues to lead targeted campaign development programs and secure philanthropic support for the School of Medicine with a goal of raising $1 million annually in annual and leadership gifts. The scope of responsibilities includes: qualification, cultivation, and solicitation, of new and existing donors, donor engagement, meeting metrics, development and coordination of fundraising programs, stewardship, organizing class gift campaigns. The incumbent engages with confidential and sensitive information of a broad scope related to donor relations, annual and major gift fundraising, and public relations. Incumbent is a motivated individual willing to partner with development officers and alumni relations colleagues in priority areas to create opportunities for alumni and friends to support the School and it's mission. The Associate Director of Development will manage and implement the annual fund, calendar year end mailings, and solicit leadership annual fund donations.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $85,400- $90,000 (Annual).
Required:
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies.
Strong skills in maintaining confidentiality.
Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills, including skills in creative and effective decision-making and problem identification / avoidance / resolution, and project management skills.
Understanding of academic, research and education functions and operating principals of a major research university
Thorough working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques.
Strong knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc.
Thorough working knowledge of the location, its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
A minimum of three years of successful fundraising in a complex development program, preferably in a health-related field.
Preferred:
Working knowledge of Salesforce or comparable a donor/prospect database system
1-3 years Experience working in a capital campaign and knowledge of concepts from planning phase to conclusion is desired
1-3 years Successful experience working with volunteers and university administrators to ensure an integrated, organized effort
Special Conditions:
May work occasional evenings and weekends.
May be required to drive on occasion in order to perform the routine or essential job responsibilities for the position
